10 Great Horror Romance Movies For The Loved And Lost
4. Shaun Of The Dead
Much like An American Werewolf in London, Shaun of the Dead is a horror-comedy with a heartfelt romance living within it.
During a zombie outbreak, Shaun must guide his friends to salvation while salvaging his failed relationship with his ex-girlfriend Liz.
To put it bluntly, Shaun sucks as a person. Despite being nearly thirty, he still acts like a burn-out with no ambition or drive to do anything besides simply existing. Liz was totally in the right when she dumped him, and if not for all the zombies, he more than likely would have stayed the same.
However, when the going got tough, Shaun showed everyone that there was more to him than any of them, outside his mother and step-father, ever thought. What makes it so romantic is that he did it all for Liz. Proving to her that he wasn't a loser came second to making sure she was safe.
He risked everything for her, and while things may have eventually gone horribly wrong leaving them the only two survivors, that doesn't take away from the fact he took action and did something.
Love is one hell of a drug.
