In this movie, Rob's deceased ex-girlfriend comes back from the dead whenever he feels intimate with another woman, all but ruining any chance he has for happiness. Yes, it is just as strange as it sounds.

You'd think with a concept as absurd as this that most of what happens would be played for laughs. Even though there are for sure some comical moments, dark ones at that, the film is surprisingly dead serious a majority of the time.

The major theme here isn't just one that's only important when it comes to romantic relationships, but all types of relationships as well. Nina herself makes it very clear that she is not in control of her temporary resurrections, it is Rob and his inability cope with the trauma from her death that causes it.

We all have emotional baggage. If we don't find some way to go about carrying it in a healthy way, any meaningful romantic, or even platonic, relationships can be put in jeopardy.

Basically, if you want to maintain substantial connections with others, get your s**t together.
