10 Great Marvel Characters Yet To Appear In A Movie
1. Moon Knight
The Moon Knight character came into being in the mid 1970s and has been a cult favourite ever since. His most popular comic book run, under his real name of Mark Spector, finished back in 1994 with the character’s death. Despite multiple cancellations there remains call for him, especially on screen.
One aspect of Moon Knight that makes the character unique is Spector’s love of alter egos. He’s not just got Moon Knight but also millionaire Steven Grant and cab driver Jake Lockley to keep his real identity safely hidden. This logically leads to multiple personality issues.
The concept for Moon Knight is that the character is powered differently depending on the lunar cycle, tying into the character’s origin from Werewolf comic books. On top of this he has similar skills to Batman in terms of combat training and crime detection.
Combined with the cape, this naturally draws comparisons to the world’s most famous comic book detective. That may be part of the reasoning behind Marvel not pursuing a Moon Knight property thus far although his overwhelming multiple personalities issues may also be a sticking point, in terms of confusing the audience.
There are other possibilities. The Superior Foes of Spider-Man had a great comic book series not so long ago and Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is a lot of fun. Spider-Man has a league of villains, of varying quality, who’ve yet to feature on film.
