10 Great Movie Characters Ruined By Awful CGI

Scooby dooby doo, WHY are you, more like.

Arguably the world's most famous animated dog (sorry Snoopy), Scoob has been the talismanic star of Hannah-Barbera's flagship mystery cartoon series for decades now. He's the face of a powerful brand, not just as the occasionally useful mascot of Murder Inc in-universe but also for the studio, so it was no great surprise when they rolled out a cinematic plan for him too.

Unfortunately, back in the early 2000s, studios who had years earlier watched Jurassic Park and Starship Troopers seemingly forgot about the still-impressive effects work they had managed and instead cobbled their "live action" Scooby together whatever old rope they could find.

Naturally, the result was awful, because nobody seemed able to decide whether he should be photorealistic or cartoonish and we got a nightmarish cringe-fest on four legs that sticks out of environments and that most of the human cast fail to even bother acknowledging for lots of scenes.
