10 Great Movies You Probably Missed (That You Can Now Catch On Netflix)

3. Steve Jobs

The best Steve Jobs movie we've ever had (sorry Ashton Kutcher), the criminally overlooked Steve Jobs is spilt into three parts that span 14 years (1984–1998) of the tech innovator's busy life, with each section taking place just before the launch of an important product.

Steve Jobs failed to turn a profit at the box-office, which is incredible when you consider its show of talent: it was directed by Oscar-winner Danny Boyle, scripted by The Social Network's Aaron Sorkin, and stars Michael Fassbender in the lead role, with Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen and Jeff Bridges supporting.

This poor performance wasn't the film's fault, though. The movie had a lot of competition, and since it was the second Steve Jobs movie in as many years, the public was possibly fed up of seeing the man's face plastered everywhere. But, regardless of your opinion of Jobs or his company, this is still a movie that demands to be seen.

Sorkin's signature sharp-tongued dialogue is present and correct, and Boyle's smooth, stylish direction helps keep the inherent similarities of the three sections (each is just before a product launch) feel exciting each time.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
