With The Falcon and the Winter Soldier came the return of several characters from the Captain America franchise. Disney+ welcomed back Georges Batroc, Helmut Zemo, and Sharon Carter, who hadn’t been seen or even thought about since she was forced to leave the US as a fugitive along with Team Cap.

She returned as a big player on the sketchy and on the whole criminal island of Madripoor, where she managed to carve out a living as a phony arts dealer. It wasn’t confirmed until the season finale, but her vices went far deeper than that.

The Power Broker was a mysterious thorn in the side of Sam and Bucky throughout the series, and though it wasn’t the most surprising revelation that it was Sharon, it was the most interesting thing that ever happened to her character, and made her the strongest antagonist of the entire series.

After all, who could blame her for going rogue after she helped Cap and was left high and dry and essentially forgotten about? The black market dealer now has an intriguing future ahead of her, and could show up to connect any number of future projects and villains, from Justin Hammer to Xialing and more, potentially in Don Cheadle's Armor Wars.
