10 Greatest MCU Villains Of 2021

7. Ultron

What If...? Ultron Watcher

For the majority of What If…?, for the first eight episodes at least, there was only one constant character. The Watcher guided viewers through eight different universes, featuring eight different stories, and eight different villains, but there was one that was on a whole other level.

‘What If… Ultron Won’ showed how things would have been different had Ultron succeeded in occupying the body that ultimately became Vision’s. He destroyed the world, took the Infinity Stones from Thanos with ease, and even became aware of the Watcher and the multiverse itself.

This should have been impossible, and in theory, made Ultron the most powerful villain ever to grace the screens of the MCU. He forced Jeffrey Wright’s character to assemble his own Guardians of the Multiverse, and brought with him some of the most awesome power any villain has ever been able to boast.

Technically, Ultron in this form was undefeatable. He was only stopped by Doctor Strange trapping him with Killmonger inside a tiny universe of their own, but should he ever escape, the entire multiverse could be his for the taking. This can be said about absolutely no other antagonists in the history of the MCU.
