To some, A Serbian Film is gratuitous, tasteless trash. To others, Srđan Spasojević's 2010 picture is somewhat of a masterpiece.

Regardless of your thoughts on this most controversial of movies, there's no debating that A Serbian Film is absolutely a tough watch at several points.

The extremely loose premise of A Serbian Film is that semi-retired, skint porn star Milos (Srđan Todorović) agrees to start in an art film as a way to help our a friend and bring in some much-needed cash. Pretty shortly, we find out that the film in question is one full of utterly horrific sexual acts - with Milos drugged in order to aggressively carry out certain horrors.

When a woman choking to death on a d*ck, the rape of a newborn baby, sex with a decapitated body, and an eyeball stabbed with a erect penis are not the toughest watch of the movie, that should tell you all you need to know about A Serbian Film.

In the one of the most disgusting moments in movie history, Milos unwittingly rapes his six-year-old son.

There really is nothing more to say after that most unthinkable of bombshells, apart from your writer is taking a five-minute breather.
