The Fantastic Beasts movies may have given us more information on Grindelwald, but his youth is still largely unexplored.

Though we know Grindelwald was expelled for his experimentation with Dark Magic and his attacks on other students, the details were never expanded upon in the books. Witnessing his development into someone who could perform such acts would make for an interesting character study.

What’s more, given that he was educated at Durmstrang, one or several movies centred on his time as a student would be an ideal way of bringing this European magical school to the big screen. Based on Krum’s brief description in the books, the grounds of Durmstrang are huge, so there would be ample opportunity for some spectacular vistas.

Beyond this, the mechanics of how Durmstrang operates would also be interesting to witness in terms of what magic is taught and how the students live. As great as Hogwarts is, seeing how it fared against another magical school could be very interesting.
