1. Severus Snape Isn't Actually A D*ck

Enjoying a pantomimic is-he/isn't-he flirtation with both good and evil throughout the films, Schrödinger's Snape long evaded definition on either side of the morality binary. But no more!

Just as we've had it with the man, writing him off as a dark wizard who has disgraced himself by re-joining Voldemort, killing Dumbledore and ruling Hogwarts with an iron fist, he flips the board and changes the game.

After being struck down by Nagini, Snape's soul is laid bare in the last memories he ever cries (that's a thing, right?). Not only is Severus Snape not a villain, but he has been secretly helping Harry throughout his years at Hogwarts.

And he hid Gryffindor's sword - a crucial piece in any young Horcrux-mashing wizard's toolkit - sending the doe Patronus to guide Harry to it.

And he killed Dumbledore on Dumbledore's own orders.

AND he was in love with Lily Potter - still, after all this time!

Most of the other twists of the Potter series shine a light on a character's true intentions, but this is a full-blown paradigm shift for the long-reviled character of Severus Snape, affording him the redemption he has been so sorely overdue.
