10 Hidden Details In Movie Closing Scenes
5. Titanic - Clock Shows Time The Ship Sank
You can be forgiven for missing this tiny yet genius detail hidden away in the closing scene of James Cameron's Titanic, as you were probably too busy wiping away a stream of genuine tears to notice. That's your writer's excuse, at least.
But, if you're feeling brave enough to step back onto the ship, there's a rather specific time revealed on the clock over Jack's shoulder as Rose walks up the heavenly Grand Staircase to meet him.
The clock reads 2:20, which is actually the exact time that the Titanic infamously sank in the water.
There are also other remarkable details involving time hidden throughout the movie. Like the fact that if you take away all of the modern day scenes and only played out the events which happened in 1912 during the film, the run time would be two hours and 40 minutes long. This is precisely the amount of time it took for the iconic ship to sink.
Between this and the clock's time at the end of the movie, it's clear that James Cameron knew his stuff when putting together this record breaking feature.
