9. Doghouse

Sony Pictures Entertainment

A little lewd at times, 2009's Doghouse is a horror-comedy based around six friends who end up in a small village for a boys' weekend.

Headed up by Stephen Graham, Danny Dyer and Noel Clarke, these six pals all have their own problems with the women (or lack thereof) in their lives.

What our core characters soon come to learn, though, is that the village of Moodley has been infected by a chemical which only impacts women. And by impact, that means turning the ladies of the area into flesh-craving zombies. Given how Moodley has four times as many females as it does males, that means major problems.

Visually, Doghouse makes for a fun watch purely down to the design of its beasts and for its array of cannibalistic characters. Our six find themselves chased by a hairdresser, a taxi driver, a barmaid, a librarian and even a bride, with this Jake West-helmed effort delivering each of these rabid sorts in fantastic fashion.

Despite walking a fine line on the matter at times, Doghouse does also end up having a message of how badly some men treat women - all doused in a shower of elaborate, gooey gore, of course.
