10 Highest-Grossing Movies Of 2015 (So Far) - Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Mad Max: Fury Road
Coming thirty years after Beyond Thunderdome, Mad Max: Fury Road suffered from both a lengthy development process and a troubled location shoot that had many wondering if the movie would join the lengthy list of long-delayed sequels that disappointed. Then the trailer dropped, and once we had all picked our jaws up off the floor the real question became whether or not the final product could live up to its new sky-high expectations. The answer was a resounding yes.
One of the most visually stunning movies seen in years, Fury Road is a big-budget blockbuster like no other; imaginative, stylish, heart-pounding, exhilarating and absolutely jam-packed with some of the most astonishing stuntwork ever put to film, George Miller's return to his post-apocalyptic franchise is quite simply one of the best movies of 2015 in any genre.
On the back of almost universal critical acclaim and enthusiastic word-of-mouth, Fury Road opened to $45.4m at the domestic box office, and still remains in the top ten almost seven weeks after it was released. Worldwide, the movie has earned over $330m, proving that in the age of studio-driven franchises, generic sequels and shared universes, there remains an audience hungry for something different from the standard blockbuster fare.
