Keanu Reeves's performance as Jonathan Harker in Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula has gone down in history as one of the most widely reviled and universally lambasted in the history of cinema. But what did you expect? Casting Reeves alongside British heavyweights like Anthony Hopkins and Gary Oldman was inevitably going to show up his limitations. Still, excuses aside it really is a dreadful performance. Keanu Reeves has never been renowned as the greatest actor of his generation - that said, if anything he should be praised somewhat for having sustained a very successful career all these years despite his obvious lack of thespian abilities. Consequently, who should we really blame for his wooden acting and terrible accent in Bram Stoker's Dracula? Perhaps the folks over at casting have as much to answer for as Mr. Reeves himself. Contrary to what many people have said, his terrible performance doesn't quite ruin the movie - although admittedly it comes pretty close.
