10 Hollywood Stars Who Got REALLY Angry When They Didn't Win An Oscar

Famed film director Spike Lee finally won his first competitive Oscar in 2019, when BlacKkKlansman scooped Best Adapted Screenplay.

He gave an impassioned speech after his win, praising his late grandmother and making a call to arms for people to vote Donald Trump out of the White House at the upcoming elections.

He also said some other things that night, which were a lot less complimentary.

His movie was also up for Best Picture, but lost out to Green Book. That film starred Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali as a White chauffer and Black pianist, respectively, as they travel through Jim Crow-era Southern America.

29 years earlier, Lee's picture Do The Right Thing lost out on Best Picture to Driving Miss Daisy, another film about race relations framed through a chauffeur-customer relationship. Clearly the similarities didn't sit well with Lee, as he tried to leave the ceremony when Green Book was announced as the winner.

He then sat back down and turned his back on the stage during the acceptance speeches, before telling journalists after the fact that "the ref made a bad call."

Maybe he just really hates cars.
