10 Horror Movie Characters Who Didn't Really Have To Die

1. Christine Brown - Drag Me To Hell

Drag Me To Hell
Universal Pictures

Sam Raimi's supernatural flick opens with bank loan officer, Christine, refusing to help a poverty-stricken gypsy called Ganush with her finances. Enraged, Ganush curses Christine's button, telling her a demon will torment her for three days before sending her to Hell. And when Ganush abruptly dies, Christine's chance to make amends seemingly vanish.

When Christine learns she can transfer the curse to someone else by giving them the button, she offers it in an envelope to a co-worker she hates. At the last minute, she changes her mind and brings the envelope to Ganush's grave, seemingly nullifying the dark spell.

In the film's final moments, Christine's boyfriend hands her the envelope containing the button, much to her confusion. In that moment, Christine realises she gave the wrong envelope to Ganush, meaning the curse hasn't been lifted. Before she has a chance to remedy her mistake, a fiery portal opens beneath her, with a slew of demon hands dragging her into the bowels of Hell.

Although Christine never deserved such a cruel fate, it's more devastating since we know it happened because of an honest mistake.
