10 Horror Movie Douchebags Who Actually Survived
3. Guy Woodhouse - Rosemary's Baby
Horror movie characters don't come much more slyly detestable than Rosemary's Baby's Guy Woodhouse (John Cassavetes).
Though initially presented as a charming, likeable husband to Rosemary (Mia Farrow), it's clear something's majorly off with Guy when he confesses to having sex with her while she was passed out - that is, raping her - in order to hasten their efforts to conceive a baby.
Yet the penny truly drops at the film's climax when it's revealed that Guy, a struggling actor, made a pact with a Satanic coven. Guy arranged for his wife to be drugged and raped by Satan in order to conceive a demonic baby, in exchange for fame and fortune.
It's a deeply disconcerting revelation, and while in another, more mainstream-skewing version of this story Rosemary might enact bloody vengeance on Guy and the coven, it never happens.
The film ends with Rosemary soothing her "child" while her fate is left ambiguous. Clearly, though, Guy's pact paid off with absolute impunity.
