10 Horror Movie Openings That Pissed Everyone Off
7. Half Of The Halloween Movies
More than any other franchise, Halloween was made an absolute art out of pissing off its own fans, enough that it's a genuine surprise the series still has any to speak of.
Halloween III started by getting rid of Michael Myers altogether for a standalone tale, the fifth film conveniently ignored Jamie Lloyd (Danielle Harris) apparently "inheriting" Michael's murderous tendencies at the end of the previous film, and the sixth movie began by killing off an older Jamie.
But we're just getting started here.
The eighth film, Halloween: Resurrection, infamously retconned Michael's "death" in the previous sequel and then preceded to kill off franchise heroine Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) in lousy fashion, doing enough damage to the continuity that 2018's Halloween opted to ignore all the sequels.
This isn't to forget Rob Zombie's 2007 Halloween reboot either, which kicked off with a scene of redneck familial strife so obnoxiously loud and vulgar that you couldn't be blamed for just turning the movie off then and there.
