10 Horror Movie Remakes That Were Just Announced
6. The Coffee Table
The Coffee Table is one of the most insane horror films of the past decade.
Without spoiling its nauseating setup, the Spanish black comedy offers up one of the most horrifying scenarios anyone could possibly face in their life, and spends 91 minutes turning the screws for maximum audience discomfort.
The film's daring premise and superb execution made it a word-of-mouth hit on streaming, and late last year, it was revealed that a Turkish remake is happening. Can Evrenol, best known for helming 2015's surrealist horror Baskin, was then confirmed to be directing this new take, entitled Cam Sehpa.
The Coffee Table's own director, Caye Casas, reported back in December that shooting had started, and so it's fair to assume that the remake is now in post-production and likely to release by the end of 2025.
It'll certainly be interesting to see if this Turkish remake offers any fresh twists on the existing concept, and considering that Evrenol has proven himself to be quite the singular filmmaker, it sure seems likely this won't be another copy-paste horror rehash.
