10 Horror Movie Remakes That Were Just Announced
3. The Breed
Cujo isn't the only killer dog game in town, as there's also The Breed, 2006's Wes Craven-produced film about a group of friends whose getaway to a remote island is interrupted by the presence of genetically enhanced, murderous dogs.
The Breed was largely panned by critics but has nevertheless enjoyed something of a cult status over the last 20 years due to both its unexpectedly name-filled cast - particularly Michelle Rodriguez, Taryn Manning, and Eric Lively (brother of Blake) - and Craven's involvement.
It certainly wasn't a remake-ripe prospect on paper, and yet, last year it was indeed confirmed that The Breed was being given an "unconventional reimagining" by directors Nathan and Griff Furst (Nightmare Shark).
Though the Brothers Furst don't exactly have the most encouraging filmography, they've certainly landed a solid cast so far, with Fall leads Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey set to star.
Nobody asked for a remake of The Breed, but free of lofty audience expectations, that's precisely how it could surprise us all.
