10 Horror Movies Test Audiences Loved (And Everyone Else Hated)
6. Mindhunters
Don't feel bad if you haven't heard of crime slasher film Mindhunters, which was shot in mid-2002 and not released in the U.S. until years later in May 2005.
Despite this signalling a troubled production, the Renny Harlin-filmed horror flick had reportedly fared well at numerous test screenings, and Miramax ultimately decided to delay the film to improve its mediocre marketing campaign.
But the intended 2004 release was scuppered due to layoffs at Miramax and the studio's breakup with Disney, causing the film to linger around in production company Dimension Films' vault for almost a year past its original planned release date.
Yet when Mindhunters finally dropped, it was panned by critics for being a tepid retelling of Ten Little Indians, and general audiences didn't care much for it either.
Ultimately despite rocking a stacked cast - including Kathryn Morris, LL Cool, J Jonny Lee Miller, Clifton Collins Jr., Christian Slater, and Val Kilmer - Harlin's film was a box office flop, and you'd struggle to find anyone today who actually remembers the damn thing.
