10 Horror Movies That Almost Had TERRIBLE Titles

1. Peachfuzz - Creep

Unfriended Cybernatural
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment

Creep is one of those special horror movies that makes every inch of you shiver. It's a strange, tense, and (appropriately) creepy movie, and there's no doubt the enigmatic title helps cement that vibe from the get-go. However, the film's original moniker would have done the complete opposite.

This found-footage horror's working name was Peachfuzz, that being the name of the mask owned by the bizarre central character, Josef. Still, even the filmmakers knew this name was a flop, as they thought it would confuse viewers too much.

Mark Duplass, star and co-creator of the flick, stated in an interview at SXSW (found here on the Wayback Machine) why this name wouldn't have worked. He said this title would leave most viewers "trying to figure out why the movie is called Peachfuzz," something that wouldn't be answered until later in the film, causing them to miss many of the story's intricacies and nuances.

That's as good a reason as any to make the change, and it was all for the better.
