With many domestic leagues across the world having recently restarted as of this writing, football fans are once again able to go and watch their favourite teams live and in-person.
In the realm of horror, though, such a trip to your place of football worship can result in an extremely gnarly experience.
Thierry Poiraud and Benjamin Rocher's Goal of the Dead is a movie that sees a cup game between two French teams end up in a brutal virus being spread throughout the town of Caplongue.
As lowly Caplongue prepare to host big-money Olympique de Paris, the desperate Caplongue manager injects one of his 'hard men' with a formula designed to make him super-aggressive in order to end the career of Paris player Sam Lorit - who previously playing for Caplongue before being drawn away by the glitz and glamour of Olympique.
This plan to take out Lorit goes spectacularly wrong, with the injected, infected Caplongue player becoming a violent zombie who spreads his condition to others by vomiting on them. Quicker than you can say "the referee's a w*nker", the players on the pitch and the fans in the stands are all either a) fighting off the infected, or b) becoming the infected.
