Starring The Babysitter’s Samara Weaving as newly married bride Grace, Ready Or Not sees her forced into playing a deadly game of hide and seek with her lavishly rich in-laws on her wedding night.

Directed by Scream (2022) and Scream VI duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, this film quickly ramps up into a wickedly entertaining game of cat-and-mouse that's brimming with deliciously dark humour alongside buckets of gore.

The reason for this macabre tradition, it's explained, is that the family's ancestor is said to have made a deal with the devil in which a randomly selected game must be played each time somebody marries into their fold. In Grace’s case, her game carries greater stakes whereby the family must win or face severe consequences. As events unfold, the filmmakers ensure there’s just enough room to doubt the truth surrounding this game's supernatural origins.

Even when Grace makes it past sunrise after the ritual is botched, viewers are led to believe that the family’s demonic pact was nothing more than a fabrication when nothing happens - that is, until each member suddenly explodes into gory chunks in what results in an oddly cathartic conclusion to chaotic events.
