10 Horror Movies That Got Banned From Certain Countries

6. The Human Centipede 2 - New Zealand

Tom Six's trilogy of gory mutilation-based horror began as a grotesque arthouse piece and quickly devolved into a full-on parody of itself.

In between those entries - the middle segment of the centipede, if you will - came The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence) from 2011. Inspired by the events of the first movie, a mentally-scarred man named Martin attempts to recreate them with even more subjects involved.

If you need to be reminded of what a "human centipede" is, please look it up in your own time.

The sequel was panned by critics and was probably a sign that the whole series should have stopped then and there. One country decided to take that decision away from Six and banned the movie from ever being shown on its shores.

As the film was received poorly by the Australian censorship boards, it wasn't even offered up for a cinema release in neighbouring New Zealand. When time came for it to come out on DVD, the New Zealand Office of Film and Literature Classification called it "objectionable".

This was just another word for "banned", meaning that was the end of that.
