10 Horror Movies That Subtly Spoil The Ending Early

Notorious genre bender Edgar Wright gave us another splice of weird in 2021 with Last Night in Soho, a time-hopping psychological horror, and a love letter to London’s swinging '60s.

Ellie Turner (Thomasin McKenzie) moves into the city to study at fashion college, finding her digs with a batty old landlady, Ms. Collins (Diana Rigg). Once there, she begins travelling back in time at night, visiting the life of glamorous young singer Sandie (Anya Taylor-Joy) who gets roped into a life of prostitution by her teddy boy manager Jack (Matt Smith). But things take a dark turn and Sandie starts dispatching her johns in bloody fashion, leading Ellie towards a terrifying revelation: Ms Collins is Sandie, and the bodies are buried beneath the floorboards of her flat.

Tending to his more obsessive viewers, Wright slipped this all in early doors. Ms. Collins has an outward distrust of men from the start, and outright admits that she would have killed Ellie's date if she had caught him forcing himself upon her tenant. Alongside the rotten smell that permeates the house, and the fact that Ellie witnesses Sandie bringing men back to what is now her bedroom, it was all there for us to see the first time round - if only we were looking hard enough.
