10 Horror Movies You Won't Be Able To Sleep After Watching

4. Pulse

The Nightmare 2015
Toho Company

Someone needs to call the Ghostbusters.

In Pulse, ghost have started to invade the human world by use of the internet. The narrative tracks two separate groups of people as they attempt to uncover what exactly is going on.

Dark Water, Audition, Ringu, and Ju-On are all top tier, crap your pants level Japanese horror films. However, the scariest horror flick to come out of Japan is hands down 2001's Pulse.

Every terrifying stereotype you can think of when it comes to J-horror, from long haired ghost girls to the inescapable reality of death can be found in Pulse. The movie is around two hours long, and while it may be a slow burn, there isn't a single moment wasted. It builds an oppressively dark atmosphere that slowly, but surely will seep into your very heart.

Pulse doesn't want to just scare its audience either. No, it also wants to give its viewers an existential crisis. What is death really? What does it mean to be alive? Is there anything worse than eternal loneliness? Questions like these will terrify you almost as much as the movie itself.
