10 Horror Sequels You Didn't Know Were Happening

4. Lights Out 2

Gremlins 3
New Line Cinema

Seemingly not done with his expansion of his first short film Lights Out, the sequel to the feature length movie of the same name is in the works from director David F. Sandberg.

Whilst the feature length film held some merits, it didn’t have a scratch on the original short, which depicted a horrifying woman lurking in the shadows of a small apartment, moving closer and closer to her victim with each flip of a light switch. Sandberg transformed this clever idea into one that fleshed out in an awkward way, creating the less scary Diana in the process, and ending on a particularly inappropriate note.

The film should be very capable of building on the blocks of its predecessor, and with Sandberg cutting his teeth on Annabelle: Creation and Shazam in the meantime, the second take has every opportunity to improve and explain the motives of the first.
