10 Huge Actors You Didn't Know Were In Music Videos
7. Zooey Deschanel - Not The End Of The World By Katy Perry
In the same way that Ed Sheeran's Lego House video played on the fact that the man has a doppelganger in Rupert Grint, Katy Perry brought in Zooey Deschanel in 2020. The two are damn near inseparable, which was the premise of the entire thing.
The video itself is nothing short of batsh*t crazy. Aliens who are trying to abduct Katy Perry to save her from Earth's demise accidentally pick up Zooey Deschanel, who can't convince them she isn't their favourite singer. The accidental imposter then saves the world by unplugging the planet's internet connection.
So, completely and utterly nuts, but it's a lot of fun, not least because of Zooey Deschanel. She brings to the video with her same effortless awkwardness that made Jess Day so lovable in New Girl, trying to tell the blue aliens that she wasn't Katy Perry before properly suiting up and singing in something of an end of the world show.
Who doesn't love an artist or a music video that doesn't take itself too seriously? The story was crazy, the effects were awful, and yet it didn't matter, this was just plain fun.
