10 Huge Implications Of The Jungle Book's Box Office Success

1. The Jungle Book Becomes One Of The Biggest Movies Of All-Time

Going on the frankly amazing box office numbers so far, The Jungle Book has a very good chance of ending up as one of the biggest movies of all time.

It seems safe to assume that the film will take in at least a billion dollars, but it's also on track to do even better than that if it can keep its rule over the box office in the coming weeks. Besides, if that lacklustre Alice in Wonderland from 2010 managed to pull in $1.025 billion to become the 22nd highest-grossing film ever, then a genuinely great movie like this one should have no trouble making similar amounts of cash.

The film grossed $30 million more than box office analysts predicted it would last weekend, after all, and it's also the kind of film that people are likely to see multiple times. There's a hell of a lot of money to be made.

Don't be surprised if in a few months' time, Jon Favreau's film ends up as one of the top 20 highest-grossing movies ever made. Deservedly so.
