10 Huge Movies That Were Instantly Forgotten

5. Clash Of The Titans (2010)

2010 was the year that Hollywood tried make fetch happen with Sam Worthington, because after starring in the highest-grossing film of all time - James Cameron's Avatar - how could he not be the industry's next big thing?

And so, Worthers swiftly starred as Perseus in a remake of the 1981 epic adventure film Clash of the Titans. Though not without its moments - namely a fun fight against giant scorpions and Liam Neeson bleating, "Release the kraken!" - this is a mostly by-the-numbers blockbuster without the vivid personality of its predecessor.

And yet, Clash of the Titans grossed almost $500 million worldwide, enough for Warner Bros. to quickly greenlight a sequel, yet given that Wrath of the Titans' box office was barely half that of Clash, it's fair to say that general audiences forgot about Clash the moment they left the cinema.

As a result a planned third film, Revenge of the Titans, was soon enough canned.
