Bizet€™s Habanera from his opera Carmen has been in a range of different films, from Superman Returns to Bad Santa but the best scene containing it has to be from Pixar€™s Up. If you can make it through the opening with your emotions somewhat intact (which itself contains an amazing song that will is one of Pixar€™s best) , the film shows us Carl Fredricksen getting up for his usual day of household tasks before sitting on his porch to stop it from being demolished. Seeing Carl slowly move down the stairs on his chairlift is hilarious and in some superb juxtaposition his face never shifts from a grumpy stare while Habanera gets lighter and lighter until it leaves you with the messy scene of a construction site.
