6. Mace Windu - Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
I'd argue that Mace Windu is one of the most ill-fitting characters inherent to the
Star Wars prequels, but that's a conversation for another time, I suppose - despite my views on Mace, though, I still don't believe that this Jedi Master was given a particularly worthwhile death when it came time for him to meet his maker. Upon confronting Anakin and Emperor Palpatine for their crimes, he gets his arm sliced off by a emo-ing Anakin, and is subsequently electrocuted by Palpatine's Force Lighting, only to get, like, thrown out of a window. Lame? Yes, it's very lame, actually. The fact that George Lucas doesn't really even bother to show us that Mace even dies from his wounds makes it a bit worse, but generally this just seems like a very unheroic and lazy end for an otherwise important character. It doesn't help that the shot before Mace Windu is killed (as he lifts his lightsaber to execute the Emperor) looks like something out of a
Saturday Night Live sketch, followed by some obligatory shots of Samuel L. Jackson pretending to get electrocuted like he's in an beginner's improv class or something.
