6. ED-209 Attacks - Robocop

Like the Terminator franchise, the Robocop movies have suffered from a law of diminishing returns brought about by the studio's eagerness to tone down the violence in order to get more bums on theatre seats, with last year's remake demonstrating everything that's wrong with modern action movie remakes. Returning to Paul Verhoeven's classic first installment and audiences are reminded just how well made these films used to be, and for the most part this vision of a dystopian Detroit in the midst of a crime wave looks every bit as good today as it did on its release. Perhaps the same can't be said for the stop motion ED-209 fight sequence in which the stairphobic robot takes on the hero.
