10 Infamous Failed Blockbusters That Cost Obscene Money

The long and illustrious history of the buddy movie has teamed up some wildly unexpected duos with brilliant results, but it would be an understatement to say that Steve Coogan and Jackie Chan are definitely not a part of that conversation.
An odd-couple adventure comedy with a period setting that involves anachronistic technology is ripe with potential, especially with such rich source material to mine for inspiration, but Around the World in 80 Days seemed to take most of its cues from the superficially-similar Wild Wild West, and ended up being just as much of a disaster.
Regular Adam Sandler collaborator Frank Coraci was a terrible choice to helm a $110m summer blockbuster that was clearly designed with franchise potential in mind, and Around the World in 80 Days was a failure on every conceivable level, one that resulted in the studio losing a reported $75m for their troubles.
