10 Infuriatingly Stale Actors That Should Try Something Different For A Change

3. Jason Bateman

The Rock Ballers
Netflix

Jason Bateman's movie career has seen him almost exclusively relegated to the role of neurotic and put-upon straight man in a string of standard comedies, but anyone that's seen Ozark is more than aware that he's capable of delivering one of the most complex and three-dimensional performances on television.

The critical acclaim that's greeted the Netflix smash hit in which he stars, produces and frequently directs should lead to ample opportunities to broaden his cinematic horizons, because as it stands the 51 year-old is still reduced to playing variations on the same role in the likes of Game Night, Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief and many more.

Unsurprisingly, his work behind the camera in Ozark and self-directed efforts Bad Words and The Family Fang have showcased the widest range of his talents, and with the third season of the streaming drama set to be the last it could mark the perfect time for Jason Bateman to reinvent himself on the big screen.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
