10 Insane Movie Rumours That Could Totally Happen

5. Charlie Hunnam: The New Bond?

SUPERMAN Nic Cage
Warner Bros.

Set to release in April 2021, No Time To Die will be the sixth and final time that Daniel Craig portrays gun-slinging, Martini-drinking playboy - James Bond.

With the tragic news of Craig hanging up his Walther PPK, Bond fans across the world started to wonder just who would replace 007 in the future. Interestingly enough, this is the first time that bookies have made odds available for a female actor to step into the role with the likes of Jodie Comer from Killing Eve (25/1) and Gal Gadot (66/1) making the list.

Top of those lists are the likes of Idris Elba, James Norton (Happy Valley) and Tom Hardy, who have been rumoured to take over from Craig since he first announced his retirement in 2015. One name that is also getting a lot of heat with regards to being next in line is Charlie Hunnam. Despite denying the rumours are true, he stated that he would be honoured, as an Englishman, to get a chance to play Bond.

Although the bookies have their clear favourites, Daniel Craig's announcement came out of nowhere after Pierce Brosnan, left so there's a lot of hope for Hunnam yet.
