10 Insane Rumours For Upcoming Superhero Movies

As James Gunn proved once again with the recently-released The Suicide Squad, he sure isn't afraid to kill off fan favourite characters if he feels like it serves the story.

And if the rumours are true, one of the Guardians of the Galaxy's most beloved heroes will end up meeting their mortal end by the end of the upcoming third film.

Between Gunn himself confirming that someone will die in the threequel and implying that it will have a heavy focus on Rocket Raccoon's (Bradley Cooper) backstory, many are already convinced Rocket is the one up for the chopping block.

How Likely Is It?: It's incredibly believable.

Giving a tortured character a heartfelt, cathartic delve into their past before having them die a sacrificial death feels exactly like something James Gunn would do, and if it truly is the final Guardians movie as Gunn says it probably is, it would certainly send fans off with a bittersweet climax.

Then again, it sure would be nice to see a character who has suffered as much as Rocket get to relax on a beach with Mai Tais for the rest of his life, no?
