10 Insane Things In Massive Movies (That Everyone Just Ignores)

I'll admit this one is more JK Rowling's fault than the filmmakers, but seriously, can someone explain to me how a false conviction is even possible in the Harry Potter universe? In a world of mind reading, truth potions, the Imperius curse and Time Turners how on earth can investigators possibly get the wrong answer.

We can possibly explain why they may refuse to use the Imperius curse as it is forbidden black magic, and you can defend against mind reading through the use of Occlumency. We are never once told that it is possible to resist a truth potion in any way at all, and one is even used in the next film to force Barty Crouch Jr to confess.

And as for a Time Turner, it seems baffling to include a device which could easily be used to go back in time and prove Sirius Black's innocence, but have it's official use being to allow Hermione to do extra classes. We are supposed to suspend our disbelief to such a degree that we believe a criminal justice system would ignore such powerful tools of truth finding in a murder investigation.

Even more insane is that fred and George had the Marauders Map for years, why did they never question why Ron spent so much free time and even shared a bed with Peter pettigrew? They never once ask him about his friend (or potential boyfriend...) even after they are told about his murder. On top of all of the above the story requires us to believe Fred and George never once noticed this, when it took Harry all of ten minutes of owning the map to find him.
