3. Mrs Felicity Fox, On Being Different, In Fantastic Mr Fox
"We all are . But there' something kind of fantastic about that, isn't there?"
Sometimes society portrays being different as a negative thing. But actually, it is pretty cool that every individual has their own little quirks and traits. And Felicity Fox saying it with such simplicty brings home the fact that an individual should not feel ashamed for being unique, but instead glory in it - because it really is fantastic. Anderson seems to have a way in making the insignificant significant; Felicity gives this little line of advice to her teenage-angsty son - but actually it applies to everyone. Sometimes the smallest pieces of advice are the ones most remembered; even if they're being preached by an animated female fox.
I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
