Recent horror franchises such as Unfriended have brought the terrors to the modern world, with the likes of social media being used as fresh new ways of showing off the scares.

User Bloodstains brought a fresh approach to the nosleep subreddit with his Correspondence story. Told via an email chain between two old friends, Shaun and Ross, things start out relatively normal with the two men exchanging pleasantries and Shaun explains how he's going to a party one night.

However, things begin to take a strange turn later that night. Lost on their way home, Shaun and his girlfriend Amanda end up asking for directions at a small house. Despite not getting an answer, they see the an old woman standing by one of the windows staring back out at them. Later on, they find the same old woman standing in the middle of the road, waiting for them.

Things soon spiral out of control for Shaun, and the mystery behind the old woman and the strange goings on in this chain of emails help keep this short story one of the most gripping and original in the entire subreddit.
