4. Walther PPK With Palm Reader - Skyfall

Gadget: Yes, Im breaking another of my own rules by including a weapon, but this one is new and therefore better (at least according to one of Barney Stinsons rules). It does have real-world use, but first lets discuss its existence in the Bond universe. By now youve no doubt seen the clips in the trailers where 007 meets Q - played by Ben Winshaw - for the first time in the Craig-era Bond films. Youve probably also thought his new gun looked badass, unless that was just me. Now, since we havent seen the movie yet (unless youre a reviewer) we can only speculate how it will come into play, but a gun with a palm reader coded to the owner looks pretty sweet to me. Real World Application: The most obvious use for this is as a new form of gun registration or safety. Now, before any gun-nuts - sorry, aficionados - get all riled up that Im advocating super crazy gun-control, Im merely suggesting using this gadget as a safety mechanism to code your new gun to yourself, thus preventing anyone else - a mugger, or I dunno, a child perhaps? - from firing your gun. If you wanted to go as far as gun registration and identification, you could, although Id expect quite an argument. Law enforcement would also likely benefit from this technology as well.
