10 Justice League Surprises That Could Totally Happen
2. Deathstroke Busts Luthor Out Of Arkham
Lex Luthor isn't the kind of guy who fails to draw up a contingency plan, which is why he won't be staying incarcerated for long in Justice League.
Presumably his brand of criminal insanity will see him transferred to Arkham, and that reference in the latest trailer to chaos at the asylum could well relate to his escape.
The idea of Steppenwolf and his Parademons liberating Luthor seems ludicrous, but the lethal assassin Deathstroke shooting the place up is much more like it.
Storyboards depicting the one-eyed hitman were kicking about shortly after Justice League was announced, so there's a strong chance he will have a role in the film, and having him on Lex's payrole makes all kinds of sense.
Deathstroke was, at one point, set to be the villain in Matt Reeves's The Batman (played by Joe Magliano), but the character's inclusion is now up in the air.
Fingers crossed that won't prevent him from storming Arkham in Justice League. That would be quite the DCEU debut!
