10 Last-Minute Predictions For X-Men: Apocalypse

The Prediction: Onslaught, the psionic supervillain created from the combined consciousness of Charles Xavier and Magneto, is set up to appear in the next X-Men movie. In the comics, Xavier felt that Magneto was out of control, so used his telepathic abilities to put him in a coma, but the darker aspects of Magneto's mind seeped into Xavier's, creating an all-new entity.

Why It'll Happen: Remember that scene in the trailer where Xavier is plugged into Cerebro and his eyes go black, as he proclaims, "I've never felt power like this before"? This is quite clearly Xavier interacting with Apocalypse's mind, so what if this leads to an alternate origin story for Onslaught, born from Apocalypse rather than Magneto in this instance?

Or better still, perhaps Xavier's interaction with Apocalypse gives him the power to shut Magneto down as per the comic and create Onslaught?

Why It Might Not: Even if this merely sews the seeds of Onslaught without actually fully going for it, it's a lot to fit into one movie. Plus, it's entirely possible that this scene is exactly as it seems and no more: Xavier finds Apocalypse with Cerebro and it makes him go loopy for a few minutes, possibly making his hair fall out as well.
