10 Legendary Rock Songs That Were Used Perfectly In Movies

6. Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

Despite what the biopic would lead you to believe, there was never really any pushback by the fictional Ray Foster to have Bohemian Rhapsody scrapped as a single. Sure, it may have been a little bit unorthodox for the '70s, but the long journey that you go on throughout the song is enough to get any rocker grooving to it. And when you finally get to the rocking section, all bets were off for some of the best rockers the comedic world had ever seen.

Which is strange considering that Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't even the first choice for a song when Wayne's World was being released. When originally pitching the idea of the scene, SNL veteran Lorne Michaels had suggested using a Guns N Roses song, since they had been one of the biggest bands in the world at that point. Mike Myers was adamant about Bohemian Rhapsody, which worked too well with this scene, as Wayne, Garth, and all of their friends get their own individual part to sing, all building to the glorious guitar riff that they bang their heads to in the car.

The scene itself worked on its own, but the film went that one notch further by getting the Queen seal of approval as well. Even though Freddie Mercury was struggling with AIDs complications, he was shown the scene shortly before his death and absolutely loved it. They could have gone with a more contemporary rock song from the time, but as far as we were concerned, real rock and roll doesn't really have an expiration date.
