10 Lesser Known Comics That NEED To Be Movies

2. Martha Washington

Fell Comic
Dark Horse Comics

Martha Washington was created in 1990 by the legendary team of Frank Miller and Dave Gibbons under Dark Horse Comics.

Martha is not your traditional superhero. She grew up in the war-torn streets of Chicago as a child. She would then go on to battle in war, travel to space, and save the world. All while fighting for liberty and inspiring a movement that would never die.

Frank Miller has seen a number of his works adapted into movies, and in 2008 he shared his strong desire for this comic series to get the same treatment. Miller had Sin City star Rosario Dawson in mind to play Washington. Dawson has proven she can take the lead on huge projects such as Daredevil and is receiving a lot of hype for her introduction into season two of The Mandalorian.

Female led comic book movies such as Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel have proven to be successful with fans, critics and at the box office, so much so that there are more to come this summer with Wonder Women 84 and Black Widow.

The platform has been set and now seems like the right time to suggest a Martha Washington series of movies with Dawson or another star at the front of it.
