10 Lessons Batman Vs. Superman Can Learn From Superman: The Animated Series

6. Presenting A Good Reason For Bruce Wayne To Be In The Story

Wayne Enterprises Logo Large1 One of the problems with a lot of Silver Age crossovers between superheroes is that there was often no narrative reason presented for the two heroes to interact with each other. In Superman: TAS, the plot is set up that Bruce Wayne travels to Metropolis for business with Lexcorp while Batman searches for the Joker. In the context of Man of Steel, it would fairly simple to create a similar set-up. As Metropolis has been destroyed by the battle between Zod and Superman, Bruce Wayne could show up and offer to provide humanitarian assistance for the city, perhaps in conjunction with Lexcorp. Also: instead of Bruce coming to find the Joker, have him come to investigate Superman himself. The explanation that an older, more experienced Batman will be in the movie suggests a cynical and skeptical Batman who would be paranoid of the demigod from outer space.
