10 Maddening Horror Movie Plot Holes

1. Where To Begin? - Texas Chainsaw 3D

High Tension Marie
Lionsgate

Texas Chainsaw 3D, in which Heather (Alexandra Daddario), a relative of Leatherface, encounters him when she visits the family house (along with her friends) that she's just inherited, is maybe the most plot hole-filled horror film in existence.

Despite being born in 1974, Heather is in her twenties... she should be nearly forty years old! That ridiculous goof sets the tone for the whole movie which is essentially just a collection of idiots prancing happily to their deaths.

The film saves the dumbest plot holes for last. Heather is captured by the corrupt town mayor, who leaves her in a slaughterhouse as bait so he can lure and kill Leatherface. Once Leatherface arrives and realises (through Heather's birthmark) that Heather's his relative, he frees her and she teams up with him to avenge the deaths of her family decades earlier. You know, the murderous cannibal family...

Leatherface has literally just murdered her friends, but she doesn't seem to care and stays at the house with him afterwards. Even for a horror film lead, that's just unbelievable.
