10 Major Movie Characters Given Nothing To Do In The Sequel
3. Casey Jones - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III
Beyond the Turtles themselves, one of the easy highlights of the 1990 live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie was Elias Koteas' performance as the Turtles' ally Casey Jones.
Despite this, Casey was bafflingly absent from the immediate sequel, apparently due to Koteas objecting to its lighter tone, with pizza delivery boy Keno (Ernie Reyes Jr.) basically taking his place.
Koteas did however come back for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, only for Casey to be given an incredibly short shrift in an exceedingly weird way.
Because the Turtles travel through time and swap places with four honour guards displaced from feudal Japan, Casey is left babysitting the dopey quartet while the Turtles head off on their timey-wimey adventure.
That Casey, a damn vigilante, is largely confined to the Turtles' lair, is borderline sacrilege. The only slight saving grace is that Koteas does get to play a second character, Whit, who aids the Turtles in the past and is heavily implied to be Casey's ancestor.
Even so, it's infuriating to bring a much-loved character back after he sat out the last movie, only to keep him basically locked away for the whole film.
