10 Major Predictions For The Fantastic Beasts Sequels

2. Newt Returns To New York Because He's Still Got One Creature To Catch

By the end of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, Newt Scamander has filled his case to the brim (if that's possible), catching all of the creatures who escape at the beginning of the film. Right...?

Actually, no. He's missing one. At the very start we see a little blue, buzzing fly escape. The insect in question is a Billywig, an insect which is apparently native to Australia and can only be seen by Muggles once they've been stung. Despite showing up multiple times throughout the film, it's the one creature that Newt doesn't actually reclaim (who can blame him - the thing is tiny!).

Yet Newt is nothing if not extremely careful with his beasts. The fact he's missed one will likely be a motivating factor for his return to New York. Maybe the opening scene of the second film will be Tina walking through New York, only for her to see the Billywig and Newt chasing after it, alerting her to his return. It'd be a nice method of bringing him back while emphasising his affection for his magical animals.
